Stories of everyday animals who do extraordinary things. Stories of mythical and magical animals. Together, we'll use drama to enter into those stories, playing the animals themselves and the people they meet. Our class will combine theatre games, storytelling and a chance for students to invent and act out their own interpretations.

SCENE ONE: this is how it starts
We'll spend this class focusing on beginnings-beginnings of stories, of plays, of friendships. We will figure out how to set up the world of a play for our audience, and will explore beginnings of stories already written and invent our own beginnings. Along the way, students will learn and practice the fundamentals of improvisation, and how to use their voices and bodies to tell a good story.
The cost for the full five weeks is $25 per child.
l st-3 rd grade classes will be taught by Professor Larissa Lury and NMSU students from her Creative Drama class.
4th-6th grade classes will be taught by Professor Lury.
